The Story Behind It
Based in Nashville, Strings for Hope gives discarded musical strings a new purpose while creating pathways toward economic independence. The survivor-led organization provides employment and work development opportunities for individuals overcoming human trafficking, domestic violence, and substance use disorder. Through artisan training, vocational skills, mentorship, ongoing support, and dignified wages, Strings for Hope helps survivors build skills and move toward their own goals.
There's something especially meaningful about the materials themselves: what once made music is transformed into something new, just as meaningful work can help create space for a new chapter.
