While in captivity, Tho Tho secretly gathered scraps of cloth, twisting and tying them into a rope of knots. Each knot represented patience. Each knot carried resolve. One night, she fastened that rope to a balcony railing and climbed down toward freedom—running through the darkness until she reached safety.

Knot by knot, she chose courage.
