The Story Behind the Bracelet
At eleven years old, Su Su left school to help support her family by working in a factory. But despite the long hours, the wages were never enough. So when her boss offered her what sounded like a better opportunity in China, she believed it could change her future.
Instead, Su Su was trafficked across the border and sold as a bride.
After being locked in a hotel room for days, she made the courageous decision to escape. Anti-trafficking officials helped her return safely to Myanmar, where social services connected her with Eden. It was there she discovered she was pregnant.
Just as she once hid beneath a tree to escape her husband’s family, Su Su recognized this as another defining moment—a chance to reclaim her story.
With remarkable courage and faith, she chose to fully embrace the Eden program. She began counseling, learned jewelry-making skills, and prepared to build a new life for herself and her baby.
Today, Su Su’s joyful smile fills the room as family and staff gather to celebrate her child’s 100-day birthday. Her story is a reminder that even after unimaginable hardship, healing, hope, and new beginnings are possible.
